Look out for the Pink Ballerina!

Last year the Pink Ballerina Waxcap was found on the tumulus. This beautiful fungus is found on only a few sites Cornwall. It’s a sign of old grassland that has not been fertilised or sprayed with herbicides. Where it grows, you can find other grassland fungi such as corals and earthtongues.

Join Pauline Penna from Cornwall Fungus Recording Group at the tumulus in Parc an Creeg, Carnon Downs on

Saturday 28th October (time tbc) to learn more about grassland fungi.

The Parish Council do not cut the grass on the tumulus in October or November so that the the fungi can continue to thrive!
