Bonfires - reminder to be neighbourly
Residents are reminded that there are restrictions on burning of certain materials and that bonfires can be un-neighbourly and unnecessary and may also be unlawful.
Suitable re-cycling facilities exist locally and if these are not convenient or easily reached, or the items are too large for you to transport yourself, Cornwall Council run a scheme for collection of items which cannot be disposed of with normal household waste or re-cycling. More details on your nearest recycling centre can be found here https://www.cornwall.gov.uk/environment-and-planning/recycling-rubbish-and-waste/household-waste-and-recycling-centres/
This is a far more neighbourly and environmentally friendly option for things like old mattresses and other goods than burning them in the back garden.
The below photo shows a bonfire on Monday 2nd January which was sent to us by a resident.
