Please be aware of overnight road closures this week - various sections of the A39 from Truro to Penryn will be closed each night from 7pm to 7am from tonight until 7th November for gully emptying and maintenance works.

Poppies are now available to buy from the Devoran Community Library on Market Street. We also have car poppies, bracelets, window stickers and crosses.

Due to staff holidays over half term the office will only be open on Tuesday 22nd and Thursday 24th October between 9am and 3pm.  The community library will be open each day as normal. 

Highways emergencies such as flooding or trees blocking roads should be reported to Cornwall Highways on 0300 1234 222.

On Thursday 12th September it will be the centenary of the dedication and gifting of Devoran recreation ground to the village in memory of those lost in World War 1. The Parish Council will be marking the occasion by planting a tree, as well as a tea party (refreshments provided by Devoran Pre-School) and the cutting of a celebration cake. ,

The Penpol Tide Mill archaeological dig team has been surprised and delighted to discover and partially excavate the ground plan of the mill, its wheel pit, remains of the large wooden mill wheel and the associated sluices that helped keep the nearby quays clear of silt. 

The remains formed part of a bone crushing mill operating there alongside lead smelting works which were certainly established in the creek by 1829.  Crushed...
