This is being put together by Age UK and their aim is to get details of groups and activities listed on it to help connect people to their communities. You can search by village or area. Here is an example of what's been put on that happens in Carnon Downs. Do you run a group and are not listed? Real Christmas Tree collections

This year you need to register to have your real Christmas tree collected by Cornwall Council for composting. They will collect from 7th January until 18th January. This year we're asking residents to register with us by 12pm on Friday 4th January if they want their tree to be collected. We will then collect your tree on the alternate week to your recycling collection. Please place your tree out for collection beside your rubbish on the kerbside. Trees must not be longer than 6 feet, and must be real living trees.

New recreation area for Carnon Downs

As part of the new Taylor Wimpey Pengelly Meadows development on Bissoe Road a new recreation area has been created to the left of the entranceway to the development and the legal work to transfer the land ownership to the Parish Council has today been completed. ​ There will also be funding from the development under the Section 106 agreement to make improvements to the play equipment in the existing children’s park at Park an Gwarry just up the road, as well as equipment for the new recreation area, this work has now been completed. ​ The Parish Council feels that these should be two distinct areas, the existing play park for younger children and the new area at Pengelly Meadows should cat

December Meet & Eat Pop Up Cafe

We had a wonderful lunch with almost 60 people attending last Wednesday, including the volunteers who cook at our monthly Devoran Meet & Eat pop up community cafe. Almost £90 was raised by the raffle which will be donated to a local charity. A big thank you to all the volunteers for taking the time to cook such delicious soups and puddings throughout the year. The next Meet & Eat is on Wednesday 9th January 2019.

Volunteer Drivers Lunch

We invited our Volunteer Drivers to lunch last Friday as a 'thank you' for all the wonderful work they do throughout the year taking people out and about in the Parish. A huge thank you to them all!
