Healthy Ageing through Innovation in Rural Europe (HAIRE) 

 

The Parish Council has been invited to take part as a pilot area (one of only two pilots in the UK),  in a

European Interreg 2 Seas Project starting in Spring 2020 in association with the University of  Exeter

and other European partners.  The project will build on Community Connect and work with

and for people aged 60+ to develop services and facilities of benefit to them. The aim is to reduce

the loneliness and feeling of isolation which can affect many of us as we grow older.

An important part of the project will focus on building on the strengths of our community and

inter-generational activities

We are recruiting a HAIRE Project Co-ordinator and Administration Assistant to be based in our office in Devoran to help with the local implementation of this project, details of these vacancies can be found below.

HAIRE Project Co-ordinator – Healthy Ageing through Innovation in Rural Europe

Fixed term contract to September 2022

Hours:                          37 hours per week

 

Salary scale:                NJC points 18 – 20  £24,313 to £25,295 per annum, plus option to join Local Government Pension scheme

 

Base:                            Feock Parish Council Office, The Old Market Hall, Market Street, Devoran, Truro

 

Contract:                     Fixed term until September 2022

 

Feock Parish Council has been invited to take part in a European Interreg 2 Seas Project in association with the University of Exeter and European Partners.

 

We are recruiting a Project Co-Ordinator to help with the local implementation of this project, Healthy Ageing through Innovation in Rural Europe (HAIRE).

 

The project will run for 2.4 years working in partnership with local health professionals, community organisations, societies and volunteer groups. The Project Co-Ordinator will be supported by the Parish Clerk, Finance Officer, members of the Parish Council, with office support by an administrative assistant.

 

The Project will develop and test systems that empower older people to recognise the support they need, participate in the organisation and delivery of community services and develop in partnership with the community new solutions to reduce loneliness and improve health and well being. A particular focus in our pilot area will be on the value of inter-generational activity to achieve the objectives.

 

We are looking for a Project Co-Ordinator who has enthusiasm and creativity to motivate, create new opportunities and affect change. The project will involve guided conversations with a cross section of the local community, coordinating community activity and public involvement and developing local structures to enable wider stakeholder participation. You will build on the current Parish Council funded project ‘Community Connect’ where a community based approach has required empathy and an understanding of the diverse and complex needs of people. You will ensure that lessons already learnt are built into the new project ensuring continuity with community participants. You will participate in the development of new service solutions in response to identified need, influencing local council decision making and building new relationships with the Voluntary and Public Sector. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to build relationships with other partners in the U.K. and across the Channel. Supported by the Parish Council and the Finance Officer you will ensure good financial oversight of the Project including budget management and Interreg audit.

 

You must have 4 GCSE’s at grades A – C including English and Maths (or equivalent), excellent IT, communication, experience of working in the community and with older people. Experience of working in the health sector would be an advantage although not essential.

 

You will be based in Devoran at the Parish Council office. You will be required to visit organisations and individuals at home alone and to travel within the Parish and outside the UK to attend Interreg partnership meetings.

Administration Assistant

Supporting the Parish Council and Healthy Ageing through Innovation in Rural Europe Project (HAIRE)

Fixed term contract to September 2022 for the HAIRE Project

 

Hours:                         16 hours per week in total 

Salary scale:               NJC 1 – 3 £17,364 to £18,065 per annum pro rata to 16 hours per week

 

Base:                           Feock Parish Council Office, The Old Market Hall, Market Street, Devoran, Truro

 

Contract:                     Fixed term until September 2022 (HAIRE project 10 hours per week)

                                     Permanent contract for Parish Council (6 hours per week)

 

Feock Parish Council has been invited to take part in a European Interreg 2 Seas Project in association with the University of Exeter and European Partners.

 

We are recruiting an Administration Assistant to support the Project Co-Ordinator with the local implementation of this project, Healthy Ageing through Innovation in Rural Europe (HAIRE). This project will develop and test ways that empower and enable older people (aged 60+) in the parish to improve the services provided and help reduce isolation and loneliness.

 

The project will run for 2.4 years working in partnership with local health professionals, community organisations, societies and volunteer groups.

 

As well as providing support to the Project Co-ordinator for 10 hours a week, the role will also provide an additional 6 hours support to the Parish Clerk of the Parish Council, mainly in the organisation of the Feock Local Volunteer Transport Scheme which will involve co-ordination of volunteer drivers and arranging trips locally for users of the scheme.

 

You must have 4 GCSE’s at grades A – C including English and Maths (or equivalent), excellent IT, communication and social media skills.        

You will be based in Devoran at the Parish Council office.
