About Us
Feock Parish Council has its own premises serving the communities of Carnon Downs, Feock, Devoran, Point and Penpol as well as all the outlying surrounding rural farms and houses. Originally built as a British Telephone exchange, it was converted to serve as a council meetings room and administration centre for the parish in 1995. When not in use, the meetings room is used as a planning access point for the public to view hardcopies of all planning applications affecting the parish and to obtain local and district wide information and access to other services. The opening times are as follows
Monday 9.30 to 12.30 Wednesday 1.30 to 4.30 Friday 9.30 to 12.30
The Council is represented by 14 parish councillors, whose full access details can be seen on the Councillors & Staff page. There are 3 part-time members of staff whose contact details also are on the same page.

Within the main villages there are 2 pubs, 2 post-offices, a County Primary school, a garage, one large convenience store, 2 doctors’ surgeries and a dentist. Also, each of the 3 main villages has a community hall.
Early in 2006, the parish council undertook a major consultation with all residents regarding the need for an up to date Parish Plan, effectively seeking residents’ aspirations for the period up to 2014. From this consultation a list of priorities was clearly shown and the parish council has now embarked on ensuring that the wheels are put in motion to ensure the plan is achieved. Full details of the plan can be accessed on the Parish Plan page.
There are some 1750 residences in the parish, with the main bulk of these in the village of Carnon Downs. The estimated population in 2007 is in excess of 3,500.

The Council own, or are trustees for, three fully equipped playing fields – one in each of the main villages. They are responsible for the repair and maintenance of all three, although there are in existence three separate local residents committees handling the day to day running of the sites.
In addition to this the parish council have in place a special arrangement with the County Council which enables it to maintain the footpath network throughout the parish under an agency agreement. Please click on Parish Council Services for more detail. On the same page you will see what other services the parish council administer; such as bus stops, village weed clearance, highway corridor maintenance, grass cutting verges and playing fields, and its involvement in a more strategic role with conservation, environmental, local housing surveys, street lighting, planning and planning briefs.
There are numerous local organisations and agencies, some of which have web links and others that can be contacted through members of each individual organisation concerned. A list of these is as follows:
